Oh, interesting.  So, the kernel already contains a bad one, likely the
backported stuff.

Could you give the commit id of the last working kernel (you can see it in
kernel-default package description)?

Also, it'd be helpful to check whether the problem happens with the latest
SLE12-SP2 kernel in IBS Devel:kernel:SLE12-SP2 repo.
