I suspect that if you disable 3D acceleration blender will also run. I've got something I can look at now, some change in the Mesa package. There's a bugfix version waiting to be accepted in Factory and I've branched it to home:plater:blender, we have to wait for it to cook before I can give you instructions on what to install. When I have a free moment I'll include blender-softwaregl in the blender package. it's in the source but it doesn't seem to be installed meanwhile you can copy it over from the vanilla blender package if blender doesn't run on own.
