This had taken half an hour to detect that without enabling and starting cups-browsed.service it is not possible to use cups and remote printers. For networking the configuartion is done by default. But as there is no default YaST screen for configuring cups with remote printers if no local printer is found ... the cups-browsed.service has to be enabled and started as well.
