Hm, works fine here in German, and I tried with Italian now as well.

Do you have kde4-l10n-it installed? (you probably do, or many other
translations would be missing as well I suppose)

Have you actually set Italian as preferred language on the "Language" tab
though? IIRC, just having it as system language will not be enough.

Here those tab labels get retranslated as soon as I move Italian (or any other
language) to the top of the language lists, no need to even click on Apply...
