Thanks for posting your config.  

I have tested it, and it almost works.  What happens is that the right button
now behaves like the middle button.  The rightmost button will now scroll
vertical and horizontal and will allow for middle pasting of clipboard
contents.  There is however no reaction at all from the middle button.

I believe this is related to how the hardware is recognized.  Inspecting the
two hwinfo listings I notice that your listing shows:

  ...
  Driver Info #0:
    Buttons: 3
  ...

and my listing shows:
  ...
  Driver Info #0:
     Buttons: 2
  ...

so it seems that I have a button that's not recognized.  As I recall, a few
years ago Lenovo did something with software buttons on the Trackpad which
caused problems.  I never had one of those systems, so don't know the details. 
But possibly related?

I'm still working on finding the exact hw specs.
