Six other bugs like this out there since 2010. 

I ran that command you suggested, and it reverted my resolv.conf to remove all
of my "nameserver" entries... basically what happens when I remove resolv.conf,
reboot, and connect to the network.

Something's seriously broken with putting DHCP supplied name servers, VPN
supplied name servers into the /etc/resolv.conf/
