Compress= Controls compression for external storage. ProcessSizeMax= The maximum size in bytes of a core which will be ExternalSizeMax=, JournalSizeMax= MaxUse=, KeepFree= The fix for my system(s) is to revert the core_pattern setting to 'core', but I opened this report to point out that the current setting is a poor default for openSUSE. For unprivileged users it should be: A core dump is disabled by default (as it used to be). When it is enabled with ulimit, a core dump is placed in the working directory, subject to applicable quotas.
