Right now I installed openSUSE Leap 42.1 Beta 1 with default KDE desktop (Ugh! - a desktop! ;-) from scratch and I did not get hplip installed: ----------------------------------------------------------------- # rpm -qa | grep hplip hplip-sane-3.14.6-3.4.x86_64 hplip-hpijs-3.14.6-3.4.x86_64 # zypper se --recommends hplip ... S | Name | Summary | Type --+--------------------------------+--------------+-------- | patterns-openSUSE-print_server | Print Server | package ----------------------------------------------------------------- I think the "hplip gets installed" part of this issue is hereby solved (i.e. by default one does not get it installed). According to comment#3 I guess the "current KDE incompatible with HPLIP" part of this issue is the same as in bug#948352 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 948352 ***
