The following is a copy-paste from a terminal, done at a time when two USB
disks were plugged in (and had been since before the latest reboot). As can be
seen, the system doesn't know about them (/dev/sdb and /dev/sdc aren't known,
and neither are the /dev/disk/by-id lines for them). This is an openSUSE 42.1
system with all current patches, including those from the Update-Test
repository.

One of these USB disks is partitioned (there is an MSDOS partition table on it,
defining two partitions), the other is an openSUSE 42.2 bootable "system DVD"
(see https://en.opensuse.org/Live_USB_stick ). I think this means partitions on
the latter disk too but I'm not sure.
