OK, after disconnecting all drives and inserting a DVD (which got the thing out
of whatever EFI drunken stupor it was in), and redoing bios boot setup, all is
well (whew).  I can boot everything just fine.  I don't think I _ever_ want to
play with that efibootmgr thingy again though.
