Reproduce: touch test.txt && gzip test.txt && LANG=C file-roller test.txt.gz Result is an error dialog: An error occurred while loading the archive. But using xz instead of gzip works. file-roller-3.20.1-1.3.x86_64 nautilus-file-roller-3.20.1-1.3.x86_64
