Sorry for the delay. It appears that during the installation you have not actually set the hostname, it stayed as 'linux' and near the end YaST added a random 4 character suffix. You have changed the /etc/hosts entry for the static address, which is unfortunately also labeled Hostname in the UI (also in the latest Tumbleweed).
