I did it again, I got "2" as well.


By all means I don't want to sidetrack you thinking, but few facts you might be
missing:

* either I am blind or save_logs commands drops a lot of info, I see more on
screen that there is logs (I attached another copy just to be safe), for
example I see right on the console I/O errors for sr0 (DVD) -- please check me
on this, if you don't see it as well, I think this is a bug on its own

* so installer wants to read something but some track is unaivailable or
corrupted, maybe this is a reason why it is not going anywhere with
installation

* the noise is such as in fact there is an error (think of faulty sector and
software trying to read it for the thousands times)

* I rechecked this disc (using "media check" option in bootloader) -- it is
fine, or the checker is faulty (?)

* computer itself has 256MB, so if GUI installer is assuming it has let's say
2GB of RAM, it could swap data like crazy, and thus it is going nowhere (it
does not explain I/O error though)

So, all my thoughts :-)
