Update: O.K. Does not seem ACPI. It seems connected with this bug:

You can trigger this bug any time with:
open VT 1, 2 and three.
now switch between the VTs in fast order. The first three switches between
users you do them and then .... boom. System crash. So no waiting necessary
(although that makes it dead sure: wait for 10 minutes without changing user so
the first change will put into "the working dead" status the system.
