Question on script <location> tag and SLES 9.0
So I read in the SLES 9.1 documentation that you can use a <location> tag to specify a file via a URI. I'm currently running SLES 9.0 and have run the latest patches to update autoyast and other yast modules. Will this feature be available through the patches, or do I have to run SLES 9.1 to get it? When I look in /usr/share/autoinstall/dtd/scripts.dtd I see that the location tag is still commented out. Tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

SLES9 has script location support. There is nothing like a SLES9.1 - maybe you mean SLES9 service pack1? The location element for scripts should be available in plain SLES9 already, without any service pack. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nürnberg, Germany e-mail: uwe.gansert@suse.de, Tel: +49-(0)911-74053-0, Fax: +49-(0)911-74053-476, Web: http://www.suse.de
So yes indeed, I do mean SLES9 service pack1. The confusion arose because I misread the yast.suse.com website, and also because that tag is commented out in the /usr/share/autoinstall/dtd/files.dtd. I'll give it a shot and see how it works! -- Cheers -- James -----Original Message----- From: Uwe Gansert [mailto:ug@suse.de] Sent: Friday, June 03, 2005 1:05 AM To: suse-autoinstall@suse.com Subject: Re: [suse-autoinstall] Question on script <location> tag and SLES 9.0 On Thursday 02 June 2005 23:31, James Mello wrote:

There's no such thing as SLES 9.1 Do you mean SLES 9 SP 1? And do not confuse them with SUSE Linux 9.1 which predates SLES 9. Anyway, read the changelogs or patch descriptions, the information should be there. In general, patches are for fixing bugs, not introducing features.
