[opensuse-autoinstall] addon packages
Hi List, anyone know how to use the pattern format file(s) for addon packages? Or are we to use the old(er) selection format files for addons? The documentation describes sel files for addons. Thanks /Lars -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

As it turns out, the new pattern format works just fine for addons, see http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Creating_Add-Ons. /L -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

After playing around with this a while, it all works just great. However, I would like to add my add on pattern to the (visible) pattern list when installing, handy when doing network install in manual mode (as opposed to using autoinst.xml, where it works just fine). Does anyone know how to accomplish this? With the selection format files I seem to remember that it was enough to create a selections file with a one-liner for the add on product, much as is described at http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Creating_Add-Ons for the patterns file. However, it doesn't work for me, the add on pattern does not show up in the pattern selection list when doing network install in manual mode. Any takers? /L -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

Well, not really, when the add on pattern was added to the autoinst.xml software selection, I get "Error occured while creating the catalog", and "Source rejected by the user". I'm using SuSE Linux 10.2 (i.e. the retail version). Any ideas? /L -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
Hi List, I've created a networked based SuSE Linux 10.2 repository with an autoinst.xml for automated installation using PXE. It works very well. I've added an update source, and that works very well too. However, when I add my add on source, using the same method as for the update source, the installation fails. The popup error message says "Installation of package .../lvm2-... failed", but when looking in the y2log I see "There are no installable providers..." for my add on's. Can anyone shed some light on this? Or maybe a pointer to some (preferably complete) documentation on how to add add-ons to my installation source (using the new pattern format)? Any ideas appreciated. /Lars -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org

As it turns out, pattern format files works well in SuSE Linux 10.2. /L -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
