Hello, I've cloned my SuSE 10.1-System. Nw I opened the xml-File with kxml-editor but I can't find the entry for the User "root" and his password? When I install with autoyast and this XML-File the User "root" is there but has no password so I can't login. How ca I fix this? strange. Actually the root user should be cloned.
How ca I fix this?
"yast2 autoyast" Tools -> Create Reference Profile and cloe the users. Copy the root user from the resulting profile then to your cloned profile where the root user is missing. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug now playing - The Cruexshadows - Marilyn, My Bitterness
Hello Uwe, I cloned the same system again....same result. No User root in the config-File. I thin the User "root" should be in the "Users"-Part of the Config-File, right? I never had that problem. Then you should configure the root user with the UI and copy that XML part then (not cloning, a manual configuration with the autoyast UI). Send me your y2log file of the cloning process too please. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug now playing God Module - The Source
