IMO it would be more appropriate to pixelize (*) the "opensuse" text, it's not that easy to read as it's an antiliased, scaled down TTF font.

(*) don't use a font but draw it pixel by pixel

That's common practice for such web banners (that always have a rather small text size).

Robert's banners are nicely designed. I would also suggest using a bitmap font to improve readability, ie:
