[opensuse-artwork] Suggestion for the Plymouth theme
I just upgraded to Beta 1 and it looks nice. =) Let me dodge the desktop background discussion by assuming it stays as-is... in which case I have a suggestion for the matching Plymouth splash. It looks a bit odd that there is a big geeko (from the 12.2 splash) and now a small geeko on the vine - the small geeko doesn't feel right to me, he seems to distract from the big one. Maybe for the Plymouth theme, the small geeko could be removed from the vine. Then he'd show up only for the real background. (An alternative would be to remove the vine entirely - the splash would still look good.) Just my $0.02. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

The 12.2 plymouth theme should of course be replaced. Could you come up with some design/code, that outlines your ideas? Greets Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Somehow I already anticipated that there wouldn't be a real new plymouth theme, so based on the grow background I have created a new one with some additional graphical effects. During the bootsplash it will display "Loading System" in 4 different languages (English, German, French and Italian). Below it will be spinner and to top it off the vine with Geeko will slowly fade in. This would be a good transition as that Grub leaves us with an initial black screen and then the DM will have the full background. Great, Raymond. Could you post it somewhere so we could test it? Or even better push it to factory ;) Greets Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

At this moment I have to fix one little thing and then I will push it into the github repo for the branding and create an update for the package to push it to factory. Great, if you wait till the evening, I am pushing the updated KDM theme so we only need one package update, for both ;) Greets Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
