Re: [opensuse-artwork] Re: Ready for brainstorming?
I have another idea. Change the menu icon (Kickoff) of openSUSE.
I think that it's time to change the icon of the menú kickoff. With
one of these icons you can see better that it is a chameleon, that
it's openSUSE!
Do a test! Change the icon of your menu. Select one of these:

I prefer the "icon number 4 gradient" (is my favorite).
Do you like it now?
What do you think? Is possible to do this change in the next version?
I can do it in other colours...

I published some works in the G+ community and i see that many users like it. I bet for a new wallpaper, new colours and forms following the current design trend.
For do this wallpaper, i used two colours: The green colour of openSUSE logo (#91c04e) and the blue-green colour (#3daee9) that which is part of the color palette of KDE Visual Design Group.
I did it in two resolutions 16:9 (3840x2160) and 16:10 (3840x2400).
This wallpaper is clean and simple. Very very beautiful.
Hope you like it!

: Hello to everybody! This is my first time that i use the mailing list. First, excuse me if i'm doing something wrong with this message.
Well i'd subscribe at this mailing list to contribute.
I'm an amateur designer and i would like to know if the artwork team have plans to change the wallpaper in the next version. I have some ideas and i would like to show some designs of mine.
I would like to change the dark trend that we saw in the last two versions and bet for something more clean, pure and colourful. "Plasma next" is coming, and i would like to do something that is up to the job.
What do you think?

Beware for 13.2 kickoff will be kick of the game and certainly replaced by homerun A quick notice about the rest concerning the wallpaper and major changes in branding stuff. The new design proposal, artwork, method related to etc will be presented at oSC14 next week Dubrovnick. We will know what the result of months of works (unfortunately a bit hidden) but for the sake. Then I guess a lot of artist will get new ideas around a unified idea of branding. So there's still time to reserved your ticket for oSC14 ;-)

Hi Bruno, Based on what did you draw this conclusion ? I know that we didn't publish the outcome of the survey yet, but this move was not really that much supported by the people that did the survey. Therefore the openSUSE KDE Community team decided that we would leave kickoff in its place and ensure that people can easily install homerun. Holly shit, then I missed that part, so then there's double work for art :-) Nice icon for kickoff and homerun :-) -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Board GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot ~~~Don't take Life too serious. A quick notice about the rest concerning the wallpaper and major changes in branding stuff.

Then I guess a lot of artist will get new ideas around a unified idea of branding. While it is good to note that we will be offering (hopefully) lots of information about branding and the current campaign we've created it is also about why we did what we did when we did it :-) There will be lots of information for anyone interested in the print design work we have done so far and a fair bit of questions we think should be asked in order to explore opportunities for the future.
We will not present any kind of design proposal for openSUSE. We will discuss the the stuff mentioned above. This is about introductions and explanations. A concrete definition of what we have done and how everyone can use it, adapt it, co-brand it, and such. We want to work with the community, as part of the community. As for the timing...we've just recently filled our ranks. It takes time for a new designer to become accustomed to linux, SUSE, openSUSE, and open source in general while still getting the "job" done. We've made posters, flyers, table clothes, banners, usb sticks, beer mats, stickers, pens and more in just a few months time. It was a lot of work with very little information (that is part of our presentation). I honestly think we did a very good job but you can decide for yourself by attending our talk on Friday, the 25th of April at 14:30 in Dubrovnik or viewing it online (if that is possible). We hope to have lots of info available: our presentation, guidelines for usage and adaption, svg source downloads and more. -- Kenneth Wimer SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
