[opensuse-artwork] suse commercial
I was just wondering, has the concept of a commercial for Suse been considered, as i was thinking earlier as it will not cost that much and can be done entirely in Suse with open tools like blender and OpenOctave or commercial apps like Houdini and Nuke. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

But why would we want to make a commercial for SUSE? They have their own paid marketing team. Our focus here is on openSUSE. Bryen M Yunashko openSUSE Project -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Iirc some people created a few on youtube before. Dunno if there was ever anything "official". Might be more of a topic for the -marketing list though. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
You mean a commercial video? Like on or for TV? That sounds really
cool. We would need to see if it is feasible though.

(whoops sent directly to andy, not the ML) heh if I can make a 40 second animation by myself and 1 other person (doing the sound and music) in 1 month It is certainly feasible http://vimeo.com/30408572 btw sorry for saying suse, instead of Opensuse, and I sent it to this list because we will be the ones that make it, not the marketing, they just distribute it On 15/02/12 04:28, andi robert wrote:

It's either a Geeko or a chameleon :-) But what would be the target audience and the "message"? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

it's simply so cute tha everybody on Facebook will share :-) the message could be "chameleon can go anywhere" or something like jdd -- http://www.dodin.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

I think this shows really great potential and makes me want to dig into the cobwebs of my mind to those "ideas I have but don't know if anyone can do this" stuff. Now that we know someone who can do this, prepare to be pinged with fresh ideas in the near future. :-) Bryen M Yunashko openSUSE Project -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
It may be a good idea, but first it has to be decided what exactly
will it advertise. Imagine you walking down the street, seeing a
plaque which you like, going to where the plaque tells you to go; and
there all you get a some generic stuff like: Linux OS... Not too
exciting is it?
So, if there are people who potentially "can" make an ad why don't we
make a separate thread, collect all the ideas and then do an IRC
meetup to vote on those?

Just a little update, I managed to get in contact with Daniel Salazar (http://www.zanqdo.com/ patazstudio.com ) who is a long time openSUSE user and huge fan, makes commercials for a living and only uses Open Software. And he would be delighted to help out and even make it. So please get in contact with him to pound out some details for i am 100% sure he and his studio can pull it off -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Well somebody will have to 'pull' and 'push' this. You seem to have artistic senses and you're interested - and most of us are more than busy with other stuff already. I think you'd have to lead this, and kick us to get the input you need. You'd need a theme, goal, target users, slogan etc before it can even start...
