According to https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory:ARM/kiwi the only difference is a commented-out test? Factory, Factory:ARM and Virtualization:Appliances are all at 5.05.31. You are right. Very strange, last time I checked factory was using an old version of kiwi where as Virtualization:Appliances was up-to-date. ATM JeOS rootfs and JeOS-raspberrypi are scheduled. Let see if they build successfully. If so, we could try to test them. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory:ARM/JeOS.armv6 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:ARM:Factory:Contrib:RaspberryP... I've observed them in the "scheduled" state a number of times in the last few days, but nothing ever got published. The last Factory:Contrib JeOS-raspberrypi log looks like the last build got killed while installing packages. Possibly a rebuild due to updated dependencies? The last Factory:ARM JeOS.armv6 log errored out finding "No provider" for a number of packages. With old kiwi we got lots of build problems with armv6 images. Then, armv6l build worker crashed which resulted in no armv6 build for a while. :(

Maybe. Local build still fail during last package installation.

This one have been fixed with latest kiwi. :) I managed to build JeOS.armv6 locally but not JeOS-raspberrypi. So I have made a manual partitioning and a manual install of JeOS.armv6 rootfs on my SD card and ... it is working !:D I am uploading my SD card image to my server so that people can test it. I will send you the link once upload is complete. Guillaume -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-arm+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-arm+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for your effort! Now please excuse some dumb questions... I grabbed a Raspberry Pi, dd'ed the downloaded and extracted image onto /dev/sdb in my case, connected HDMI and µUSB for power. The screen stayed black, and the raspi does not seem to have serial via USB (no /dev/ttyUSB*). Did you SSH onto it via Ethernet or how does one use the image? https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Raspberry_Pi just says "Power on the Raspberry Pi" and "Have a lot of fun...". Do you see partitions if you plug your SD card on your computer? If early boot works (find right file on FAT partition), you should see a multi-color square on your screen. Then Linux kernel start and you see kernel messages. I used keyboard + screen because SSH server is broken for the same reason as zypper and yast2 --install fails. Which LEDs lights up on your RPi? Nope, and not in the extracted .raw file either. 2.1 GB unknown, says the GNOME Volumes tool on 12.3. I'll try re-downloading. Using wget instead of Thunderbird this time, I see that it's using text/plain MIME type, so maybe some line ending conversion happens when downloading? $ sha1sum openSUSE-RPi-image-20130904.raw.xz e4e783281753c9dd5afa2b7f8b3cd28f3fefa1d5 openSUSE-RPi-image-20130904.raw.xz

Identical sha1sum for the newly downloaded file, and xzcat'ed .raw file still shows no partitions in gnome-disks. :( If all else fails, can you share the recipe to recreate this image? MBR partitioning I guess? Which order, which sizes of partitions? Extracting a JeOS tarball should be easy once built locally. Ahem, when using the right qemu-linux-user package it does work. I managed to build JeOS.armv6 locally but not JeOS-raspberrypi. So I have made a manual partitioning and a manual install of JeOS.armv6 rootfs on my SD card and ... it is working !:D
I am uploading my SD card image to my server so that people can test it. I will send you the link once upload is complete. Thanks, looking forward to playing with that! It can be downloaded from here: http://guillaume.gardet.free.fr/openSUSE/RPi/openSUSE-RPi-image-20130904.raw...
I used a 2 GB SD card so the raw image can be 'dd' on a 2 GB (or more) SD card.
People are welcome to test it. But it is just a temp workaround until we get a working OBS image for RPi. [...] I grabbed a Raspberry Pi, dd'ed the downloaded and extracted image onto /dev/sdb in my case, connected HDMI and µUSB for power. The screen stayed black, and the raspi does not seem to have serial via USB (no /dev/ttyUSB*). Did you SSH onto it via Ethernet or how does one use the image? Do you see partitions if you plug your SD card on your computer? Nope, and not in the extracted .raw file either. 2.1 GB unknown, says

Hi,
So my guess was wrong, I get the same locally without interrupting it. CC'ing Markus.
