Three questions regarding Jack, Yast Update and Compiling 32 bit apps
I have three questions I hope someone can answer or at least point me in the right direction. First regarding Jack when I attempt to run jackd I get the following errors. jackd -d asla jackd 0.80.0 Copyright 2001-2003 Paul Davis and others. jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details JACK compiled with POSIX SHM support loading driver .. can't load "/usr/lib64/jack/jack_asla.so": /usr/lib64/jack/jack_asla.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory cannot load driver module asla jack main caught signal 15 I've checked my system and the rpms shipped on the AMD 64 9.0 DVD and cannot find these library files. Also, should it be alsa or asla? The second question is how do I perform an on-line patch update? On-line Update is asking for a code and password, how can I get these. One last question, is there a document floating around that explains how to change the "configure" and "make" files so I can compile 32 bit apps without them looking in the /lib/64 directory for shared libraries. Sorry, I'm not a programmer, but I have at least been successful in the past with following directions and get applications compiled. Thanks in advance for your help. Rick

Maybe if you started it with 'jackd -d alsa' it would do the right thing? ;-))) Philipp -- Philipp Thomas SUSE LINUX AG, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuremberg, Germany
