I just installed SuSE 11.1. It seems to work fine.automatically mounting USB flash drives.
However, it looks like it has inhereted the same defect from version 10.3 when
it comes to
Earlier SuSE versions used to pop up a new icon on the desktop whenever a USBconnected to a system USB port.

I have tried 3 different USB-2 memory sticks and none is seen by thesystem.
What am I supposed to do ?
It isn't a bug. This works perfectly in 11.0 and 11.1; I use SD cards and
thumbdrives every day and they automount and appear on the GNOME desktop.
Do you have this feature enabled iin user preferences? It the hotplug
subsytem running?
