TIA for any help, suggestions, etc

I suggest you start a new thread, with a subject line that summarises your
problem. LVM experts might not be reading Stan's thread.

Sorry for the long time lapse before replying.

This is the second reply I've seen today where someone has confused me
with Stan Goodman. Stan appears to be a longtime participant...I have
just started lurking about, and occasionally jumping into a topic, for
the last couple of months.

There is indeed no confusion. You *did* change the subject of a post
from "Stan" and post a new thread effectively HiJacking Stan's thread.
Perhaps you need to google for the meaning of hijacking a thread.

I did indeed hijack the thread, only by accident, as I was multi-tasking
to the point of thrashing that day, and it was perhaps my first attempt
at a new thread here (though not on lists in general).

Since then, I have copied the email address, and sent a new email to the
list, apparently successfully. If that method is still hijacking a
thread, please let me know. (Although I don't know how it could, since
it is a totally new email, rather than one built off an earlier post.)

However, if this is still occurring, please let me know, and I will make
sure I find out what it takes to get a new thread going here. I will try
a new post before long, as soon as I have time to gather the version
info, etc. as I have recently started losing my window decoration under
Gnome/Compiz, but only for Firefox.
