Hi !,
I am not getting any sound from my laptop. It is a Compaq Presario
CQ45. I tried to troubleshoot as in--
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Intel-HDA_sound_problems
I got the following when I entered command into the terminal to know
my sound driver--
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 <==
Codec: IDT 92HD71B7X
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 <==
Codec: LSI ID 1040
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#2 <==
Codec: Generic 10de ID 3
Also searching inIn the file
/usr/src/KERNEL_VERSION/Documentation/sound/alsa/ALSA-Configuration.txt
search for the codec, in this example again ACL883.
I changed to the kernel version after installing kernel source
I am also surprised to find in the file, that my driver matches that
of Dell & ref.
I changed the soung file to include model=ref
I am unable to understand the conflict. On reading the discussion in
the page, i did not know where else to change.
Please give me some tips.
Thanks,
