I'm running Squid, Samba and Winbind in a Windows NT 4.0 Server
environment (not Active Directory). I have Samba and Winbind
configured and joined to the domain. I can enumerate NT users and
groups, and trust secret is valid (wbinfo -t). For Squid
authentication, I am using the ntlm_auth program with the
squid-2.5-ntlmssp helper and whenever I test it on the command line, I
get the following error:
[2009/05/07 12:11:40, 1] utils/ntlm_auth.c:manage_squid_ntlmssp_request(798)
BH NTLMSSP query invalid
When using the squid-2.5-basic helper, the authentication is
successful so I imagine that I have Winbind and Samba configured
correctly. Is this a bug in Samba or do I have something configured
wrong? How do I go about debugging this issue?
