Errrrr nope no go no libstdc++.so.5 installed by that still the same
complaint

Anyone else know of the location of libstdc++.so.5 the one that is needed
to install the latest fglrx ati drivers

Pete .
I'm not sure what you are trying to do but if it involves compiling
something then you need libstdc++33-devel. From 11.1 it's called
libstdc++33, if you're using 11.0 and down it's compat-libstdc++.
These packages contain libstdc++.so.5 and for compiling you need the
devel versions as well.

If you read the thread you would see it was about the ATI fglrx video
drivers
that need libstdc++.so.5 NOT the stock stuff they drivers will not install
unless libstdc++.so.5 is installed , Therefore i need the location of that
lib .

Anyone else know where to get this darn stupid lib from for 11.1 x86_64

Pete .

zypper in libstdc++33 libstdc++33-devel

For 11.0 x86_64 I say, put your DVD in the tray and:

zypper in compat-libstdc++

For me I see:

15:32 alchemy:~/linux/scripts> rpm -ql compat-libstdc++
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5.0.7
/usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.5
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
/usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.5.0.7

Dunno, maybe my eyes are going too ;*?
