The Thunderbird has the ~/.thunderbird directory that works the same way as
Firefox. Move it to new location and then start Thunderbird. The export and
import functions are meant to and from other mail clients. You don't need
them to move stuff from one TB installation to the other.
I wish that KMail has that as simple.
