One other thing I forgot to mention. OS/2 didn't need file extensions,
as the file type and application info was stored in the EAs.
Neither does Linux, that information is usually available in the file
headers. See "file" command. This should be easy to incorporate into
KDE for files that are missing their extensions.
What is EA? Extended Attributes (just a guess)?
