Keep in mind that KDE != SuSE. When I had problems with an 11.1
desktop machine running KDE 4.2, I changed to Gnome to see if that
would make a difference. Indeed, it did, and I was able to do
everything I needed to do.
problem is kde4 is the first choice in openSUSE 11.1 config, kde 3.5
