Nope, in my opinion ease of use is the best argument. I don't even have to
know anything about linux to be able to replace a drive. If the shit hits the
fan, the admin is sweating and prone to make a hasty mistake.
This starts from installation without grub fiddling and continues with all
sort of management tasks.
Another argument for hardware RAID is that you can share the data
between Linux an another OS (e.g.: when dual-booting.)
