Following your advice I downloaded
r3725+AR5007EG_2.6.25.5_1.1-2.2-x86_64 instead of

madwifi-kpm-default 0.9.4_2.6.25.5_2-1-x86_64, although it's 4 days younger.

In Yast I could not adjust AR242x802.11 abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter
because of missing Kernel device (eth0, wlan0)

For configuring I had the choice between User controlled with
Networkmanager and traditional method with ifup.

Under the 'Hardware' tab I could not find a 'ath_pci' module.

iwconfig gave:

1o no wireless extensions

eth0 no wireless extensions
