This is a Atheros 5007eg?
Don't use the madwifi from suse, it won't work.

Get this one:

http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-hal-testing/

blacklist the ath5k module in /etc/modules.d/blacklist (just adding
'ath5k' in the file)
unpack the tarball and just do a
make
make install
modprobe ath_pci

voila!

greetings
thomy

I have no /etc/modules.d/ on my laptop.

Hi Andre, I have the same chip set for my wifi card (5113WMLI Acer),
and I'm using the same driver that you have dl'ed 0.94? I don't
remember what exactly how I got it to go the first time, but what I'm
doing after each kernel update is "make" and then "make install", and
then rebooting (I don't actually know what to do next at the CLI to
avoid rebooting and have the driver in effect, I suppose I ought to ask
David if He has a script for that as well).

But my problem was that 'make' did not work
