I'm using this repo with good success on my iwl3945 card. The easier
way other than searching for compat-wireless, would be to add the repo
and run an update. Zypper automatically picks up the compat-wireless
and the right kernel module associated with it.
One thing I'd suggest you check is if you have the iwl3945-ucode
(firmware) installed from the Non-OSS repo. That actually enables the
wireless adapter in my experience.
Good luck!

Now, no wireless networks show up there. Choosing Edit-Connections
shows no connections. I'm using an Intel PROwireless 3945ABG card.
are you already updated, there are a lot of update on knetworkmanager alone.
try re-probe the module manually, as root type
# modprobe -r iwl3945
# modprobe iwl3945
if you already save one connection in knetworkmanager wait to see if
knetworkmanager connect, if not try to connect manually from
knetworkmanager.
I use kernel module (compat-wireless module) from
http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Download, but i think the link of
repo Mark show you is enough.
