Yes, but please don't.
First of all, overwriting the rpm by the .sh installer is not a good idea in
general without first uninstalling the rpm
And secondly, the .09 driver is an improvement over the .05

I am using NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-173.14.09_2.6.22.18_0.2-0.1 from Nvidia
repository.
How do you install this NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-173.14.05-pkg2.run ?
From a Konsole as root ?
Hi Clive
Nearly, just save your work in the GUI, switch to a console
(CTRL-ALT-F1) and log in as root, then do an 'init 3' followed by 'sh
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-173.14.05-pkg2.run' and follow the instructions.
Afterwards, just 'init 5' again and you should be good to go.
Yes, but please don't.
