I already requested that feature to be added in so that ark can be called up 
through Dolphin, like you can in Konqueror (requested it upstream to 
bugs.kde.org).  Until this happens you should have KDE3's Konqueror and KDE3's 
Ark installed where you can do this, or use Midnight Commander, or the zip 
command.  My answer, and the one above, is KDE4 specific due to Dolphin and 
KDE4's Ark lacking the ability you are looking for.
