So you have a Vostro 1700 with 8600 and 1920x1200 LCD?
lspci says: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce
8600M GT (rev a1)
and yes a 1920x1200 LCD
I see no Composite option? Are you sure XGL is not installed?
/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager is DISPLAYMANAGER_XSERVER=Xorg
There is no additional Xorg.9?.log in /var/log/ which normally indicates a
running XGL
Is there another way to check if XGL kicked in?
Composite seams to be added automatically (see /var/log/Xorg.0.log)
(II) NVIDIA(0): Support for GLX with the Damage and Composite X extensions
is
(II) NVIDIA(0): enabled.
I added Composite to your xorg.conf, but still no luck.
What is your Benchmark score? (You have to enable and press Super-F12 to
activate).
Mine never goes above 20Frames/sec.
Speed is about 60. Drops to 30 when I rotate the cube (2 cubes for 2
screens, glxgears, 3d Effects etc activated)
