Its been a while since I last touched Opera, but if what was true then still 
is true now then you have to point Opera to where Java is by hand.  How I'm 
not sure, you may need to look up in their user fourms, after I saw that I 
pretty much gave up on Opera and stayed with Firefox and Konqueror.
