Hi,
On my opensuse 10.3 I cannot open VMware Workstation anymore.
Which vmware version do you use?
If I try to open it I get this message:

~> vmware
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: error while loading shared libraries:
libavahi-glib.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Interesting: vmware version 1.0.4 build-56528 does not search (need?)
for "libavahi-glib". I made a "strace -fox -s 4096 vmware" and searched
for the libavahi error, but I do not see this.
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware:
/usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information
available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware:
/usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information
available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
This errors I do also see, but for me vmware (version 1.0.4 build-56528)
works as expected.
libxcb: WARNING! Program tries to unlock a connection without having
acquired
a lock first, which indicates a programming error.
There will be no further warnings about this issue.
libxcb: WARNING! Program tries to lock an already locked connection,
which indicates a programming error.
There will be no further warnings about this issue.
vmware: xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) -
(dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed.

What does this mean, and how can I get rid of it ?
Perhaps, rerun vmware-config.pl or update :-)
