after going through the installation instruction described at this link:
http://awn.wetpaint.com/page/SVN+Version+Installation  multiple times
and with all the built-in dependency hell, i end up with this error:

> make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
> make[1]: Leaving directory `/local/Downloads/avant-window-navigator'

i was about to give up until i came across this comment by a former openSUSE linux-noob:

"oh sorry I switched to Ubuntu and now Compiz Fusion (after a lot of trouble I compiled 
it with a shell script I found and now it runs), Emerald and awn are running -- really great, 
thanks for such a great work :-)"

which is quite depressing, can somebody can help?
