[opensuse] linedrawing of YaST vs. MC in context of PuTTY/SSH

Hi,
I usually connect to my boxes with PuTTY (ssh).
The lines of MC look ok but YaST shows the characters l, x, m, q, t instead of line symbols.
That's a bit irritating.
Is there a setting of PuTTY or the server so that both have real lines?
