[opensuse] USB stick not mounted with "sync" option

Hi all,
in OpenSUSE 10.1, my removable USB flash memory would be mounted by the
hotplug subsystem with the sync option so I could yank it if it weren't
flashing. However now that I've gone to 10.2, all my systems mount it
without the sync option and I have experienced data loss without
realising this.
A workaround is to run "sync" as root before yanking, or unmount.
Is this a bug or a deliberate change? How can I configure my preferred
behaviour?
Have fun,
Darren
