I haven't found the php_interbase module with SUSE at all. That is the one 
you'd be looking for. I've seen it for Wintendo, but not *nix yet.

You might try to setup an ODBC connection, which will work. It might be a bit 
slower, but it should do for now.

You may also have better luck on one of the PHP bulletin boards.
