[opensuse] Removable media: handling and security policy

Hi,
The handling of removable media (floppy, ZIP, CD, DVD, external disks,
USB memory, ...) changes with almost every SUSE release. I'd like to
have a specification of:
- how things should work
- a corresponding security policy
in openSUSE 10.2. Currently, it's difficult to tell what is a bug and
what is a feature for an ordinary user.
Do these documents exist? If not, who can write them?
