Python 2.4 and 2.3 at the same time

Is there anything to consider when installing python 2.3 as well as 2.4?
I have a SUSE 10.0 system that I want to run an existing Plone site on.
It ran with python 2.3. I have tried with the python 2.4 what comes with
10.0, but I get no joy. So I want to try with python 2.3.
