Hi Sunny,

Thanks for you response!
I installed XMMS from SUSE 10.0 CDs with the package manager.

When I opened a MP3 file at the first time, XMMS friezed all the system, and
I pressed the reset button (I think it was the first time I used reset with
Linux) :-)

Before the reboot I tried again and XMMS does not work, with the message at
console:

Gtk-WARNING **: invalid cast from `(unknown)' to `GtkObject'
Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkobject.c: line 1034 (gtk_object_set_data):
assertion `GTK_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed.

And so, I downloaded the most recent XMMS source, when I tried to run
configure, I got the error:

checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.2... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
configure: error: *** GTK+ >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***

but all GTK stuff is there (devel packages too)

I installed xmms-lib-mad-1.2.10-79.pm.1.i586.rpm, but it's not working yet.

I found at google many people with the same problem!

And I've updated SUSE 10.0 too, using susewatcher, but it does not help.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I installed xine and Kaffeine with the package manager, from SUSE CDs.
I can see that SUSE 9.2 works, but many people have problems with
SUSE 10.0to play DVDs:

I installed libdvdcss-1.2.8-1.i386.rpm (that I've used with RedHat), and
w32codec-0.52-1.i386.rpm.

And I did the download of xine and Kaffeine source and compiled it, and I
got the same error at Kaffeine:

Loading of player part 'KaffeinePart' failed.

Details
All video drivers failed to initialize!

I'm still trying any thing that I find at google...

Any hint will be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!
