Lonn,
Not many of us are recommending ASUS equipment right now. There have
been several complaints about incompatibility with their stuff and
their attitude toward Linux is worst than yours! ;o)
Also, as Sid remarked about the AMD, I would also suggest going that
route as they just seem to be a bit better. Unless someone
specifically requests Intel, I don't build anything but AMD systems
now. Usually the onboard sound is something of the AC97 variety and
will work, but for the best solution, a sound card is the better
choice. PCI-X is not a problem and whatever you choose to go in it
should provide good graphics. Ethernet ports will work, SuSE will be
happy with all you can provide.
So there you go, another opinion for you to toss around in deciding.
