Same here. I never did get any of the Altair/ Spectrum computers etc.
I was quite late coming into computing and my first PC was purchased
in 1996. Ok, that's a good while back now. Anyway, it was a Pentium
166MMX chip. Then, 3 years later I decided it was time to start
building my own PC's. Like Sid, I decided on AMD at the time simply
because of cost. I haven't looked back since and have always bought
AMD. In fact, I don't even bother looking at Intel CPU's anymore.
