Screensaver on SuSE 10

I noticed when I came in yesterday morning that my email and browser were
visible. Since I had performed a YOU without restarting KDE (and I think
there were KDE components) I decided to explicitly restart KDE.
Screen Saver is set to
Start Automatically after 5 minutes.
Require password to stop
Make aware of power management.
The screen saver selected is random.
KDE version is 3.4.2.
YaST power Management is set to default (Performance).
The powersaved daemon is running.
This was all working when I performed an upgrade install from SuSE 9.3.
In any case, I'm looking for some ideas. When I have a few minutes, I'll
change some of the above settings, but meanwhile I'm looking to see if
anyone else has had a similar problem either with an upgrade or new
install.
